Delphi Drug Prevention Services

Our Vision

We see a future for our community in which every person can access education, counseling and the tools for recovery, and in which every person is able to live a fulfilling and satisfying life free from stigma, abuse and addiction.

Prevention

Delphi offers prevention through education and recovery through treatment. We empower people in the Greater Rochester/Finger Lakes area to make informed decisions about substance use and other behaviors. We offer a range of prevention programming (counseling and education).

Counseling

School districts choose to partner with Delphi Drug and Alcohol Council to provide students and faculty access to substance abuse and chemical dependency prevention services. Counselors are well integrated into the school community. Experienced staff are trained in addictions counseling and provide school and community-based substance abuse prevention counseling programs to the school district. School-Based Prevention Counseling Services are utilized by school districts in both Monroe and Wayne counties.

Education

Delphi offers evidence-based prevention programs and trainings. School-based programs are designed to teach students in a given school or grade about the following topics or skills: emotional self-awareness, emotional control, self-esteem, positive social skills, social problem-solving, conflict resolution, coping strategies, substance abuse prevention and education. Adult professional development and trainings are offered as well.

Trainings

Community and school district educational trainings include Mental Health First Aid and Youth Mental Health First Aid trainings. Someone you know could be experiencing a mental illness or crisis. You can help them. You are more likely to encounter someone – friend, family member, coworker, neighbor or member of the community — in an emotional or mental crisis than someone having a heart attack. Mental Health First Aid teaches a 5–step action plan to offer initial help to people with the signs and symptoms of a mental illness or in a crisis, and connect them with the appropriate professional, peer, social or self-help care. Anyone can take the 8-hour Mental Health First Aid course – first-responders, students, teachers, leaders of faith communities, human resources professionals or caring citizens.

Sometimes, the best first aid is you. Take the course, save a life, strengthen your community.

Outpatient Treatment

Delphi operates a full-service Outpatient Chemical Dependency Treatment Program that is fully licensed by the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS). Outpatient Treatment Services are provided to both male and female clients 18 years and older. We provide evaluations, drug screening and individual, family and group counseling. Outpatient substance abuse treatment allows clients to remain at home and continue a normal daily routine while receiving the professional therapy and guidance needed to gain control over an addiction.

Delphi utilizes evidenced-based models of care that allows adults dealing with substance abuse issues to develop positive behaviors, maintain abstinence from alcohol and drug use, learn and reinforce relapse prevention skills and meet individualized treatment. Referrals come from the criminal justice system, school districts, DHS, parents and self-referrals. There is also a specialized track for perpetrators of domestic violence within this treatment program.
