NRW Voters Approve 2023-24 Budget
On Tuesday, May 16, voters in the North Rose-Wolcott Central School District approved the 2023-24 budget in the amount of $34,710,447 by a vote of 157-39.
Voters approved a proposition to spend $727,668 from the District’s existing school bus reserve funds to purchase five school buses, with 163 yes votes and 33 no votes.
Voters also approved a proposition for funding for the Wolcott Public Library and Rose Free Library, with 159 yes votes and 36 no votes.
Voters also approved a proposition to establish a new five-year bus reserve fund in an amount not to exceed $6 million, with 163 yes votes and 34 no votes.
Lucinda Collier was elected to a five-year term on the NRW Board of Education (July 1, 2023-June 30, 2028). Votes for the board seat were cast as follows:
Lucinda Collier: 133 votes
Write-in votes: 48 (38 for Jennifer Murphy, 2 for Karli Starczewski, and 1 each for Deanna Wiltsie, Brian Cole, John Freer, Laurie Navratil, Joanne MacDougall, Janet Sears, Daniel Smith, and Jennifer Judge)
