Leavenworth Middle School Ribbon Cutting and Public Unveiling Set for August 23
The North Rose-Wolcott Central School District will host a ribbon cutting and open house for the newly renovated Leavenworth Middle School building on Monday, August 23, 2021.
A building tour for senior citizens will be offered at 1:30 p.m., followed by a ribbon cutting and reception at 2:30 p.m. The building will be open to the public from 3 to 4:45 p.m.
The historic Leavenworth school building has undergone extensive renovations since the spring of 2018 including complete renovation of instructional spaces, corridors, auditorium, gymnasium, roof replacement, window replacement, lighting replacement, HVAC improvements, security upgrades, electrical improvements, bus loop reconfiguration and asbestos abatement. Many of the historic features of the over 80-year-old building were maintained as part of the project. These renovations were part of the $35 million capital project approved by district voters in 2017.
Middle school office staff and administration moved into the building in late July and final touches are being completed in preparation for the arrival of teachers in late August and students on September 7.
