North Rose-Wolcott High School will welcome the community on Tuesday, May 7, a night that will feature a movie, panel discussion, and presentation.
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. in the High School auditorium with the showing of “Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope,” a documentary-style film that looks at the implications toxic stress has on both individuals and society. Pizza and refreshments will be served following the movie, and there will be a panel discussion about toxic stress with experts from Family Counseling Services of the Finger Lakes. At 7 p.m., there will be a “Vaping/Hidden in Plain Sight” presentation by Mike Ballard of the Council of Alcoholism and Addictions in the Finger Lakes. The presentation includes information about the dangers of vaping and includes a model of a teen’s bedroom to show how a parent can look for items that may be in plain sight.
This event is free and open to the public. Child care will also be provided.
