Art students receive CNY scholastic awards

Several North Rose-Wolcott High School art students were recently recognized as CNY Scholastic award winners. The awards are based on artwork students submitted earlier in the school year.


High School principal Brian Read commended the students for their achievements.


“It’s great to see these students rewarded for their hard work,” Read said. “We’re proud to have so many talented artists at the high school.”


NRW students received regional awards for their work. Gold Key Awards were given to the very best works, Silver Key Awards were given to stand out works that demonstrate exceptional ability, and Honorable Mention was given to accomplished works that show great skill and potential. In total, 23 pieces from NRW students received recognition.


Gold Key winners:

Abi Jo Wanek (Grade 10)- “Piece by Piece”

Silver Key winners:

Nayeli Morales (Grade 10)- “Green Town”

Isabella DeFeo (Grade 11)- “Watermelon Pot” and “Dinnerware Set”

Cassidy Rose (Grade 12)- “Skull”

Kelsey Roberts (Grade 12)- “My Place”

Sierra Mourey (Grade 12)- “Pastels”

Kensie Graham (Grade 12)- “A Drop Of Paint”
