Voters Approve 2026-2027 Budget

On Tuesday, May 19, voters in the North Rose-Wolcott Central School District approved the 2026-27 budget in the amount of $39,080,000 by a vote of 224-210.

Voters approved a proposition to spend up to $925,000 from the District’s existing bus purchase capital reserve fund to purchase five diesel school buses, with 280 yes votes and 154 no votes.

Voters also approved a proposition for funding for the Wolcott Public Library and Rose Free Library, with 292 yes votes and 142 no votes.

Additionally, two members were elected to the NRW Board of Education. Nikole Smith received the most votes and will serve a five-year term from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2031. Linda Eygnor received the second most votes and will serve from May 20, 2026 to June 30, 2027. Votes for the Board of Education were cast as follows:

Nikole Smith: 330 votes

Linda Eygnor: 278 votes

Wade Kniffin: 142 votes

Write-in votes: Scott Welsh, Deb Sloan, Drew Smith, Kelsey Roberts, Lola, Tom Humbert, Andrew Patchett, Paul Statskey, Heidi Schwittek-Barnes, Jasen Sloan, Jennifer Sloan (2), Evan Tyler, James Humbert, and Gary Buckalou.
