Voters Approve 2024-2025 Budget, Elect Kerr and Haffner to BOE

On Tuesday, May 21, voters in the North Rose-Wolcott Central School District approved the 2024-25 budget in the amount of $35,489,766 by a vote of 240-82.

Voters approved a proposition to spend $657,026 from the District’s existing capital reserve fund to purchase five school buses, with 266 yes votes and 55 no votes.

Voters also approved a proposition for funding for the Wolcott Public Library and Rose Free Library, with 267 yes votes and 57 no votes.

Voters also approved a proposition to transfer $250,000 from the Liability Reserve Fund to the Repair Reserve Fund and deposit $25,000 in unappropriated general fund balance from the 2023-24 budget to the Repair Reserve Fund , with 263 yes votes and 56 no votes.

Travis Kerr and Lesley Haffner were elected to five-year terms on the NRW Board of Education (July 1, 2024-June 30, 2029). Votes for the board seat were cast as follows:

Travis Kerr: 243 votes
Lesley Haffner: 225 votes
Erica Hacker: 103 votes
Michael VanAkin: 49 votes
