Three NRWHS Students Receive Regional Scholastic Art Awards
Gold Key-winning photograph by Kai Reynolds
Six pieces from three North Rose-Wolcott High School artists have been recognized in the annual Central New York Scholastic Art Awards!
The regional Scholastic Awards, hosted each year by Onondaga Community College, recognize the best works from area middle and high school students in a variety of categories including painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, ceramics, and digital art. Award winners are determined through a juried art show that takes into account factors including originality, technical skill, and the artist’s personal vision. It is a great honor to have your work entered in the competition and an even greater honor to have it selected as among the best student works in the Central New York region.
Pieces can receive one of three awards - Honorable Mention, Silver Key, or Gold Key. Gold Key-winning pieces are eligible to go on to the National Scholastic Art Competition.
Ten NRWHS students had their work selected to compete: Madelyne Henderson, Hannah Howig, Raegan Jackson, Casey LaForce, Allegra Lynn, Alex Milan, Kylie Paul, Kai Reynolds, Gabrielle Chatfield, and Kaydence Bebee.

The award winning work will be on display at Onondaga Community College’s Whitney Building through mid-February. Students will take a field trip to help install the show on January 14th and a separate field trip to view the exhibit on February 7th.
Congratulations to all who submitted work and were selected for this honor!
