NRWHS Choir Students to Participate in NYSSMA All State, Area All State Festivals

NRWHS choir students selected for Area All State

Six North Rose-Wolcott High School choral students have been selected to participate in the New York State School Music Association’s Area All State festivals later this year, and one will represent NRW at the state level!

Students were selected to participate in Area All State based on their spring 2023 NYSSMA solo evaluation grades. During the festivals, they will rehearse music and perform a concert with other top student musicians in the area.

Ninth graders Anna Madison and Abigayle Bates were selected to participate in the Junior High Area All State festival in the treble chorus and mixed chorus ensembles. Junior High Area All State will be held on November 4-5 in Batavia, with a concert scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on November 5.

Seniors Braden McKown, Harmony Hyde, Cora Haffner and Kendra Balcom will all be part of the mixed chorus in the upcoming Senior High Area All State festival, scheduled for November 17-18 at Rush-Henrietta High School. The mixed chorus will perform at 2 p.m. on November 18.

Additionally, Braden earned a spot in the mixed chorus ensemble at the NYSSMA Conference All State festival after receiving a perfect score of 100 on his solo in the spring. He will join top music students from across New York State during the NYSSMA Winter Conference in Rochester in early December.

Congratulations to these talented Cougars!
