NRW Students Compete in District Spelling Bee

NRW Students Compete in District Spelling Bee

The second annual North Rose-Wolcott Spelling Bee took place on February 12, with 13 students participating and doing a F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C job!

Students in grades 4 through 8 were invited to put their spelling skills to the test in the NRW Middle School auditorium. After 16 rounds, sixth-grade student Hunter Hanshaw secured first place by correctly spelling the word “thumbs.” Second place went to fourth grader Alijah Adams.

As the winner, Hunter will be nominated to represent NRW at the Wayne-Finger Lakes Regional Spelling Bee in March, with Alijah serving as an alternate. The winner of the regional bee will go on to represent the Wayne-Finger Lakes region in the 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Congratulations to all who participated on a job well done, and best of luck to Hunter in the regional competition!
