Joseph Canori Named Assistant Principal of NRW Middle School

The North Rose-Wolcott Central School District welcomes back a familiar face as assistant principal of NRW Middle School.

Joseph Canori started in his new role at the middle school on July 14. He previously served as an assistant principal intern at North Rose-Wolcott Elementary in the 2022-23 school year and said returning to NRW feels like “coming home.”

“The positive culture within the district is unmistakable. Everyone here is united by a shared commitment to student success,” Canori said. “It’s clear that people choose to be part of this district because they genuinely care about the students and their growth. That sense of belonging I felt from day one has never left.”

Most recently, Canori served as an assistant principal at Newark High School. His experience includes teaching special education in the Webster Central School District and math at the Norman Howard School in Rochester, as well as coaching basketball at several levels. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Nazareth University and an administrative certificate from SUNY Oswego.

In his new role, Canori looks forward to reconnecting with staff, students and families while building new relationships that support learning and growth.

“Most of all, I’m eager to be part of the ongoing efforts to foster a safe, inclusive, and inspiring space where all learners feel seen, valued and empowered to succeed in life,” he said.
