Some of our duties include:
- Providing help to families with a focus on establishing home environments that support children as students.
- Encouraging effective communication between families and the school.
- Recruiting and organizing parent volunteers for special events.
- Supporting school efforts to involve parents in school decisions.
- Pulling in community resources to strengthen school programs, family practices, and student learning and development.
Please reach out to us with any questions or concerns or fill out the family outreach forms below. We are here to help!

Elementary School - Samantha Gardner
Hi, my name is Samantha Gardner and I am the Parent Liaison here at NRWE!
I grew up in Perry, N.Y. and that is where I met my husband, James Gardner, who grew up in Red Creek. After college, we bought a house in Farmersville Station, N.Y. and married in 2005. In 2008 our first child, Tyler Joy, was born. That was when I decided to be a stay at home mother. Our son, Foster, arrived in 2015. Two years later, we decided to move to North Rose to be near my husband’s family. When Foster started Pre-K here at NRW, I returned to the working world in the NRWE kitchen. I then spent some time in the classroom as an aide. I am now in my fourth year as Parent Liaison at the elementary school.
I can be contacted at NRWE via phone at (315) 594-3141 or preferably email at sgardner@nrwcs.org. I will also be available at drop off and pick up every day for questions or concerns. I welcome positive feedback and constructive criticism that may help me be the best Parent Liaison I can be.
I hope for a great year and look forward to working with the staff, students, and families of North Rose Wolcott Elementary again this year!

Middle School - Yvonne Bishop
My name is Yvonne Bishop. I live in Huron with my husband and two children. My son is in 10th grade and is attending P-Tech High School in Newark and my daughter is in 8th grade here at NRWMS. We have two big dogs (aka: big babies). We like to garden and we like to enjoy our boat. My children and husband love skiing in the winter (I like to drink my hot cocoa inside). I love vintage treasures and antiques and spend my spare time trying to be creative to repurpose old things.
Over the years I have gained vast experience in education through many different roles in many different schools throughout Wayne County. I taught Early Intervention Special Education at Roosevelt Children’s Center for 7 years. I have experience in parent advocacy, PTA, preschool literacy, community and school event planning, early intervention parent skills training and community outreach.
My goal as the Middle School Parent Liaison is to simply help foster better communication and relationships between our families, the school and the community. You can always reach me at ybishop@nrwcs.org.
