Project History and Scope

  • In February 2017, voters approved a capital project for NRW schools that would have no impact on school taxes. In early 2018, the bids for the project came back higher than initially anticipated, due to an increase in the construction cost index and other unpredictable factors. To move forward with the project, district taxpayers voted to approve the maximum estimated cost of the project by $4,505,000, which covers all expenses associated with phase one of the capital project. The voters also approved the utilization of $2 million of the Capital Reserve. The remaining $2.5 million to cover the costs will come from state aid. This addition to the original capital project will have no impact on the tax levy.
